So... What is STXi?

We are a group of impassioned high schoolers from all over South Texas who feel passionate about our region's unique cultural landscape, and we are eager to celebrate it with the rest of our community and showcase it to the world!

What does STXi do?

Every year, we host several different community events and activities that are all aimed toward one common goal: bring together the people of the Valley in discussion and appreciation. Our biggest event is our annual STXi Festival, which will be taking place this year in July 2022 at the McAllen Convention Center in collaboration with MXLAN!

We've worked with some pretty cool people!

STXi's mission and vision is loud enough to be heard by some of the world's biggest movers and shakers, including...

In 2017, Michael Mireles, STXi's founder, and Marcos Silva, one of our educator sponsors, traveled to Aspen, Colorado to attend a series of transformative leadership workshops hosted by the Bezos Scholars Program. This experience helped plant the seeds for the kind of organization STXi is today!

As a TED-Ed Club, STXi has gotten the unique opportunity to send several of its members to represent the organization at TED Headquarters in New York City, New York during TED-Ed Weekend, a fun-filled youth conference that elevates young voices from all over the world that speak of ideas worth sharing.

In 2017, STXi's representatives included Abigail Piando, Erasmo Robles, Valentina Wey, Amber Rodriguez, and Sebastian Oliva. In 2019, Ana Rodriguez received the honor of being interviewed on the TED stage. In 2020, STXi was represented once more by Josue Bello, Vanesa Marmolejos, Itzel Gonzalez, Catherine De Guzman, and Aaron Piando.
